What to Expect From Tree Service Tyler

Tree Service Tyler takes down, trims and cleans up trees for homeowners in Tyler and the towns around it in Smith County: Whitehouse, Lindale, Bullard, Flint, Noonday, Chapel Hill, Arp, Troup and the wooded acreage in between. Most of what we deal with is East Texas standard issue: tall pines leaning toward a roof, post oaks and water oaks declining after a dry summer, crape myrtles that have outgrown the bed, limbs brought down by a spring storm or a coat of ice.

A job starts with someone walking the property with you. We look at the tree itself (pitch tubes or red needles on a pine, peeling bark and gray or black fungus on an oak, cracks, a fresh lean, dead tops) and then at what surrounds it: the house, the shop or barn, fences, the septic field, the neighbor's yard, and the Oncor lines along the street or the service wire running to your house. On a city lot in the Azalea District or near the brick streets, room to work is usually the deciding factor. On five wooded acres outside Lindale or Flint, it is more often the ground: wet red clay after a week of rain will rut under heavy equipment.

We also sort out what is not ours to cut. Limbs inside about 10 feet of an energized Oncor primary line are a job for the utility's line-clearance crews, and we will tell you when to call Oncor before we do anything. Commercial and multifamily land in the City of Tyler falls under the clearing and tree preservation rules in the Unified Development Code; a tree in the backyard of a single-family home generally does not, but we suggest a quick call to the city if a lot is being developed.

After the walk-through you get a written quote. Each tree has its own line: what will be done, how the wood and brush are handled, whether the stump is ground, and the price. You can approve one line and hold off on another. If something changes once a climber is in the tree, such as hidden rot in a trunk, we stop and talk to you before the price changes.

Ground rules we work by

  • Pruning follows the ANSI A300 standard: proper cuts at the branch collar, no topping, no stripping a tree bare.
  • Limbs over roofs and fences are lowered on ropes, not dropped.
  • Brush is chipped; logs are left, cut to firewood length or hauled off, as you choose.
  • Storm calls are taken in order of danger: trees on houses and blocked driveways come first.
  • You pay for the work you approved in writing, nothing more.
